Deacon Ballot

Alan Lord

Alan & Neena have been married 47 years and have two grown daughters and 4 grandchildren.  They moved to Murfreesboro in 2018 and joined the Northside family the same year. They are active in The Adams’ Connect Group, and Alan works as a controls engineer.

Brian Carper

Brian and Jennifer have been married for 16 years and have two daughters, Emma and Anna Kate. Brian was baptized at Northside in 2012, and over the years has served in our Preschool & Student Ministries and in Midweek groups. Brian worked as an EMT with Rutherford County EMS for 6 years and Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital ER for 4 years, while also owning/operating the fishing guide service he started 20 years ago. He currently works full time as a fishing guide on our Middle Tennessee lakes.

Carson McKnight

Carson and his wife Kelsey have been married for 14 years. They have two children, Amelia (10) and Oliver (7). Over the years, they have served at Northside as Connect Group leaders in our Preschool, Student, and Adult ministries.

Jerrold Giles

Jerrold was born and raised in Middle Tennessee and is a graduate of MTSU, with a degree in Accounting. He and his wife Jessica have been married for 12 years and met online via Christian Mingle. They have two daughters, Joanna (8) and Madelyn (6). They have attended Northside for 10 years and enjoy serving in our Preschool Ministry and co-leading an Adult Connect Group.


Lee Long

Lee and Debi have been married for 48 years and are blessed with three daughters and eight grandchildren. Lee received Jesus as his Savior at the age of 16, and since that time, he has served in various roles in the churches they have attended, including as a deacon at Northside Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC. He served as Director of Fleet Services for Southeastern Freight Lines in Columbia, SC for 30 years. Lee and Debi joined Northside in the spring of 2022. Since joining, he has served as a substitute Connect Group teacher, participates in the choir, and takes part in North Carolina mission trips.

Mike Butler

Mike and his wife, Laurie, were both raised in Christian homes and were saved and baptized at young ages (9 and 7). They met and were married at Riverside Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado and raised their two daughters, Melissa and Natalie, who are both married and have blessed them with 8 wonderful grandchildren. Mike and Laurie moved to Murfreesboro in October of 2008 and joined Northside in the spring of 2009. Mike and Laurie both enjoy serving in our Worship Ministry, being active in their Connect Group, and Mike has hosted a men’s Bible study group for several years.
